Bronze Medal – 2013 Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition
Wines Northwest - Wines of the Week Selection, October 3, 2013 "The Desert Wind Vineyard is located on Washington’s Wahluke Slope AVA, a very warm sub-region of the Columbia Valley. This wine was barrel fermented in French oak and bottled with just a hint of residual sugar. It was blended with .5% Viognier. The aroma of the wine leans away from citrus and grassy notes toward baked apple, earthy mineral and stone fruits. The palate is rich with flavors of pear and notes of apricot, and finishes with a note of toasted hazelnut."

Bronze Medal / Recommended - Beverage Testing Institute "Interesting aromas of sour cream frosting on toasty fruity cake and overripe pear follow through on a silky entry to a dry-yet-fruity light body with fennel, grass and tangy Meyer lemon notes and a crisp, lemon pepper and clay finish."
Recommended / Best Buy - Wine Press Northwest Fall 2010 edition "Gooseberry, green apple, Bosc pear, grassiness and the flick of a tomcat’s tail help tell the tale of the aromas. There’s a quick burst of sugared apple on the entry, then quince, starfruit and gooseberry take over with a thread of minerality in the background."
2007 Bare Naked Sauvignon Blanc
88 points - Wine Spectator, July 31, 2008 "Lively and bright, with a refreshing lilt to the tangerine, pear and fresh herb flavors, lingering nicely. Drink now." –HS
Chuck Hill's Wines of the Week - April 2008 "This all-stainless-steel fermented Sauvignon Blanc offers all the characters sought by oyster lovers. Delicate aromas of citrus and herb lead to a crisp palate of green apple, grapefruit and Asian pear. Serve chilled with your oysters on ice. Yummm!"
Chuck Hill's Wines of the Week - January 26, 2009 "On the lighter side of Sauvignon Blanc, this bottling offers bright aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. The palate is delicate, but with a bracing acidity that cries out for the company of an oyster on the half shell. Flavors of citrus and tropical fruits and a crisp finish refreshes the palate for the next sip and slurp."
